How I Draw Wings--Tutorial

I made a wings tutorial. Surprise!

*ahem* Anyway, I've gotten several compliments on how I draw wings, so I decided to make a tutorial. But more than that, I thought that I should make a simple tutorial that still explains how the wings work. I've seen a lot of really awesome, really complicated tutorials on wings...I've also seen a lot of bad ones that only tell you the "step by step" but don't talk about the way the wings work or even the difference between different kinds of feathers!

So I decided to make a tutorial of my own. Hopefully this’ll help some people get a good start on wings. It took me about a year to develop this style. I wanted something simple (as I’ll be using this style for my manga, When in Rome, and need to be able to keep them consistent panel to panel) but also something semi-realistic and cool looking. So…if you’re looking for a simple yet believable wings style, you could say that I just saved you a year of trial and error! *brik’d*
